The striker, who has just signed a two-year contract, goes into the tie having hit the net in each of his last nine games. He told the Scarborough News: “I still feel there is more to come from me.
“I never expected to be on 16 goals at this stage of the season, but I won’t be sitting back and getting comfortable. I’ve never been a natural goalscorer, but I’m playing with a lot of confidence at the moment, which is helping me to relax when the chances come.”
Coulson, who has scored six times in the Seadogs’ cup run, has quite a pedigree in the competition. He played for the original Scarborough FC against Chelsea in 2004, came on for Barnsley in their 1-0 quarter-final win against Chelsea in 2008, and appeared against Cardiff in the semi-final at Wembley.
He added: “This season has been great. We are doing well and it has really given the fans something to cheer.”
Tommy Taylor believes the home supporters could be the key factor on Saturday. More than 200 travelled to Stratford for the third qualifying round replay, and the keeper has described them as the Yorkshire side’s 12th man.
“The noise they make is ridiculous. It raises the hairs on the back of my neck whenever we score a goal,” said Taylor.
Saturday’s game is pay on the gate. Admission prices are £10 adults, £5 concessions and £1 for the under-11s.
Scarborough chairman Trevor Bull will be live on BBC Radio York from 7.30 tomorrow morning.
The winning club will receive £12,500 in prize money.
